A School graduate at Budapest Cinematography Masterclass 2009
The recent graduate Yanelvis González, born in San Antonio de los Baños, represented EICTV and its Department of Photography in the 10th Edition of Budapest Cinematography Masterclass, which 1st edition occurred in 1999.After finishing her studies at EICTV, last July, Yanelvis travelled to Hungary from August 30 to September 13 where she shared an intensive work planning with young students of cinematography from different parts of the world. The meeting, organized mainly by CILET, together with some Canadian and Australian schools had the attendance of 16 pupils and 16 invited participants, besides 6 practicing members of Kodak one of the companies sponsoring the event. The students were guided by Vilmos Zsigmond and Elemér Ragályi, two of the well known teachers of Hungarian cinematography, who has worked in films directed by Woody Allen, Brian De Palma and Robertt Altman, besides acknowledged prizes like Oscars and Cannes. There was available advanced technology such as 35 mm Panavision cameras and all the advantages offered by a Kodak studio. During the workshop, they worked with a wide range of digital and celluloid formats, and attended lectures at night about Hungarian films as well, a fact that, according to Yanelvis, motivated a constant and enthusiastic dialogue between the cinematography of the countries involved, from Indian films to Russian ones, Cuba, Australia, United Kingdom and many countries of East Europa. This 10th Edition of Budapest Cinematography Masterclass had the presence of students from the following schools: CCC (Mexico); National Film and Television School (United Kingdom); Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen "Konrad Wolf" (Germany); University of Art and Design Helsinki (Finland); Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (Germany); Filmová a televizní fakulta (Check Republic); Państwowa Wyzsza Szkola Filmowa; Telewizyjna i Teatralna (Poland); Baltic Film and Media School (Estonia); International Film School Wales (United Kingdom); Victorian College of Arts (Australia); The Russian State University of Cinematography (Russia); Westminster Film School (United Kingdom); Film and Television Institute of India (India); Színház- és Filmművészeti Egyetem (Hungary).
