Every year, EICTV calls young filmmakers from Latin America, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the rest of the world to join a new generation of students. International registration offices representing EICTV are in charge of coordinating the application testing system.
Regular courses consist of a three year syllabus divided into three different stages: Polyvalence, Specialization, and Thesis; each corresponding a year term period. It is distinguished by a high level practice teaching content which is guaranteed by more than 20 years of experience.

- Polyvalency
It corresponds to the first year of the Regular Course. The main objective of this stage is to introduce students into the audiovisual creative world from every particular aspect of filmmaking, and to have students experience a team work general outlook. So, during this stage, students are not separated per specializaton; instead they pass through every specialty. General cultural background and film appreciationIt are studied in depth.
The distinguished hallmark of this stage is the Practical Shooting Workshop, shot in 16mm, also known as 3Minutos (3Minutes) due to the final length of the film. The set is now the classroom, so knowledge is put into practice.
- Specialization
During this second year, the student pursues a special line of the audiovisual production. After a semi-polyvalence in Documentary, the students get deep into their specific subject
Each department is constituted by a head and a coordinator. The academic direction together with each head of department and their respective coordinators set a yearly syllabus, select and contact teachers.
All the knowledge acquired during the specialization stage is tested during the third year of studies which is devoted to the thesis. Students from all specialties are involved. In the case of the specialty of Scriptwriting, thesis exercises consist of the writing of a screenplay for a feature length film.
- Complementary Formation
The objectives of the Departments of Complementary Formation are to improve the formation of the students order to make them trained viewers, gain knowledge of film and television history and styles, and being able to handle conceptual and formal terms that have incidence on the different formats of the moving images.
